Kephren Lee Blount, 22, of Brunswick died Thursday in Buford.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday from the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. James E. Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ashley Owens, Justin Champion, Herbert Rogers, Charles Rogers, E.S. Ray and Larry Champion.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Surviving are his father, Eric Vroman and mother, the late Pam Blount of Brunswick; maternal grandparents, Tommy and Virginia Peeples of Brunswick; paternal grandparents, Emma Jean Vroman and the late John Vroman of Brunswick; sister and brother-in-law, Ginny and Chad Ellis of Buford; aunt and uncle, Karen and Wayne Owens of Hendersonville, Tenn.; uncle, Tony Blount of Brunswick; niece, Rio Dills of Buford; cousins, Justin Champion and Ashley Owens of Hendersonville, Alexander Schinzel, Drew Blount and Becky Johnson, all of Brunswick.

Mr. Blount was a native and lifelong resident of Glynn County. He was a graduate of Glynn Academy, class of 1996, and was the captain of the cross-country team his senior year at Glynn Academy. He attended Georgia Tech and then attended Georgia State University. He was a member of the Georgia State Honor Society. He was the recipient of the Georgia State Faculty Scholarship plaque for Academic Excellence. He was on the president's list and the recipient of the Dean's Scholarship plaque for Academic Excellence. He was on the president's list and the recipient of the Dean's Scholarship Key.
